This is a great kid’s book that will help all kids connect to the nature around them. Stick it in your backpack and take your kids for a hike, then read the book on a break, sitting on a log! Vicente is writing direct from his heart and it shows.

What I love about this story, is it is especially written to encourage children of color to see themselves in exploring the natural environment. If your an educator add this to your library, if your an parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, mentor or just a human being who loves nature. Buy this book and encourage our children to play and experience the natural environment. Lastly, continue the Portland Parks legacy the spirit of the great Charles Jordan and continued by not only his awesome family and emerging voices and leaders like Vicente Harrison.
